Sabangan Beach Resort in San Juan, Batangas
Sabangan Beach Resort is only a three-hour drive from Manila to Laiya, San Juan, Batangas.
Sabangan Beach Resort is set along the 7 kilometer long white sand beach of Laiya. The beachfront lies along the crystal blue water and gentle waves of Sigayan Bay and the Verde Island Passage. Behind the resort stands the picturesque and majestic peak of Mt. Daguldol. The 5,400 square meter compound is planted with giant Palm, Coconut trees, and fruit-bearing trees like Tamarind, Banana and Atis.
Sabangan opened to the public in April 2004 with 3 spacious and well appointed bungalows - all with private toilet and bath, patio area with sala set and well equipped kitchenette; all designed around a spacious courtyard.
During the summer of 2005, a gazebo was added to accommodate guests who would like a common dining area. It is located close to the beach front.
In 2006 and 2007, 4 units of the one-bedroom bungalows and 2 units of the two-bedroom bungalows were added. There are now a total of 6 units of the one-bedroom bungalows and 3 units of the two-bedroom bungalows ready for guests’ use. Construction of our two-storey and loft-type bungalows are scheduled on the second half of 2008. The daytrip bahay kubos will no longer be available starting July 1, 2008 to give way for the construction.
Most of Sabangan’s guests come to the resort to relax and take pictures of the beautiful surroundings. They like to enjoy the cool breeze at the patio and converse amidst the beautiful and serene atmosphere at the resort.
As the sun rises in the morning, one wakes up to the chirping of the birds and the rustle of the leaves. Early birds can walk to the beach to check out the day’s catch or take a jog along the long white sand beach. You can also take a dip in the calm blue waters of the sea or go bird watching amidst the forests around the resort. The most enjoyable moments during the day are when families and friends converge at the gazebo to take their snacks and meals. You can burn your calories while playing beach volleyball in front of the resort.
For the thrill seekers, you can take a hike up the scenic slopes of Mt. Daguldol. Daily trips to the Naambon peak (672 meters above sea level) are available with horses, porters and guides. There is a nearby marine sanctuary where you can go snorkling and scuba diving but guests have to bring their own gear. The marine sanctuary has good coral cover and fish life, including soft and leathery corals, sea stars, sea cucumbers and is teeming with reef fish. If you’re lucky you can spot a pawikan (giant sea turtle) during one of your dives.
Take a boat to nearby coves, the submarine garden and other nearby attractions. Our staff can arrange your boat ride upon request. Fees for the boat depend on the distance and time spent.
At the end of the day, you can unwind and have a massage at the patio of your cottage by a certified reflexologist while viewing the sunset.
